An interpreter will demonstrate to the students what it was like for people in North Carolina living during the time of the American Revolution.

They will learn about the significance Rural Hill played in the Battle of Cowan’s Ford and other surrounding Revolutionary War events to include the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, the British occupation of Charlotte, the Battle of McIntyre Farm, and such figures as General William Lee Davidson, Major John Davidson, and William Taburn, an African American who fought for the American cause.

Tours must be booked at least 7 days in advance of the event.
