AMAZING MAIZE MAZE
OPEN FOR FUN NOW THROUGH OCTOBER 21, 2007
HUNTERSVILLE, NC: More than just a little cornfusion…With
summer heat behind us in the Carolinas, the exciting and fun-filled
Amazing Maize Maze is open for fall fun at Rural Hill – Center for
Scottish Heritage. Rural Hill Executive Director Ed McLean noted,
“The seven acre labyrinth of corn delighted more than 19,000 last
year and is already on track to break all attendance records in
2007.”
The Amazing Maize Maze is approximately
two and a half miles of pathways in a working corn field.
Perfect for family, friends, and group outings, the fun is working
together to explore the paths and solve the clues to make it through
the maze. According to McLean, “With a Maze Captain and the Maze
Master to help when needed, the Amazing Maize Maze is designed to be
navigated in 1-2 hours. Cool water is available throughout the maze
and concessions are also available on site.”
“A symbol of civil liberty valued by people the world over, this
year’s maze theme is ‘The Land of Liberty’ and it challenges problem
solving skills while taking you on a historical journey about the
Liberty Bell and the Scots and Scots-Irish in the Carolinas,”
explained McLean. “Meet Thomas Polk and Abraham Alexander, and hear
how 200 Calvary from the North Carolina and Virginia colonies helped
to save the Liberty Bell from falling into British hands…all while
navigating your way through the corn to Victory Bridge!”
The Amazing Maize Maze is open Thursday through Sunday from 10 AM –
5 PM. Admission is $10.00 per adult and $6.00 per youth ages 5-14.
