THIS WEEKEND!  2010 RURAL HILL SCOTTISH FESTIVAL AND LOCH NORMAN HIGHLAND GAMES

HUNTERSVILLE, NC:  THIS WEEKEND, April 17 & 18, is the 17th Annual Rural Hill Scottish Festival and Loch Norman Highland Games.   With professional Scottish heavy athletic competition, amateur heavy athletics, international as well as regional music talents in Celtic rock, traditional and contemporary Celtic music, piping and drumming, highland dancing, Scottish country dancing, harp and fiddle competitions, children’s activities including pony rides and flex flying, open hearth cooking demonstrations at our 1760’s homestead site and our famous historic encampment, the weekend will be fun for the entire family.   Proceeds support the preservation of Rural Hill.  Complete details, schedules and ticket information are available online at www.ruralhillscottishfestivals.net.

Saturday, April 17

7:30 AM

Competition in Piping and Drumming.

8:00 AM

Field opens, Registration for Amateur Scottish Athletic events.

8:30 AM

Highland Dancing competition begins.

9:00 AM

Registration for Battle Axe competition; practice throws until 11:00 am.

 

Registration for Scottish Fiddling until 12:45 pm.

9:30 AM

Competition begins in Professional Heavy Athletics.

Worship service at the Rural Hill Burying Ground.

Saturday only - game tickets (Includes Saturday night concert): $20

Saturday Night Only Concert: $10
Sunday only - game tickets: $10
Children 5-12 years (one day): $7
Children 4 and under: FREE
Parking: $5 per day (Proceeds go to Huntersville Lions Club and Rural Hill Preservation. Parking paid to attendant on day of event; includes one commemorative program.)
